Archimedes Fund Raised $8800

The Texas Floating Classroom’s R/V Archimedes has provided hands-on educational experience for area students and adults for many years.  Hurricane Hannah damaged the boat while it was moored at the Texas State Aquarium with total damages expected to approach $35,000.  Texas Floating Classroom’s (TFC) insurance policy has a $10,000 deductible.   SABP’s fundraising efforts  provided $8800 toward the deductible. When added to TFC fundraising efforts, the goal has been achieved!

Funds are still needed to continue the Estuary Education Program, usually scheduled for October each year. While the program may be delayed until Spring due to uncertainties in school protocols given the pandemic, you can contribute its continuing success by visiting.
