Smithsonian Bird Banding

On Saturday April 23, 2016 San Antonio Bay Partnership  lead a field trip for the Friends of the Port O’Connor Library & the Museum of the Coastal Bend to observe the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Banding Team in action at The Nature Conservancy’s Clive Runnells Family Mad Island Marsh Preserve

The group met at  Mad Island Marsh Preserve gate. Observed the banders with Tim Guido, Team Leader and Emily Cohen, Postdoctoral Fellow  then ate lunch provided by SABP at Mad Island Lodge and enjoyed presentations by Mad Island Preserve Manager, Steven Goertz and volunteer coordinator Brigid Berger, Texas Master Naturalist.
