Board Members & Staff
Port O'Connor
Allan grew up in Port O’Connor and is a graduate of Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University—and retired from ExxonMobil after 35 years in various assignments.
An avid fisherman who also enjoys paddling and hiking and the great outdoors — and who wants to preserve it for his 5 grandkids.
Brigid and Allan retired to Port O’Connor in 2013. When not fishing , Allan is active in other conservation causes as a Texas Master Naturalist, a member of Calhoun County Parks Board, and previously on the Board of the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory.

Victoria
Raised in Seadrift, TX. Graduated from Calhoun High School (1973) and Baylor University (1977) (BS Biology). Retired after a 41-year career at the DuPont/INVISTA plant in Victoria, TX. Is a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and a Texas Master Gardener. Bobby volunteers at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, sampling water quality for Texas Stream Team, and on SABP projects: oyster reef restoration, cold-stunned sea turtle rescue, abandoned crab trap removal. Bobby and his wife of 44 years have four grown daughters. They, with their husbands and nine grandkids, all live in the Victoria area and love the mid-coast bays & estuaries.

Houston
Bill retired to the Rockport area in 2017 after a 38 year career in Healthcare Information Technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from The University of Missouri and a MBA from Houston Baptist University. Bill is married to Janice Burge. His son Richard also resides in Rockport with his wife Jessica and their two children. An older son, Jimmy resides in Houston.
Bill is a lifelong conservationist. Since moving to Lamar he has been actively involved in a number of projects and organizations with the goal of restoring and improving the unique habitats and wildlife populations of the Coastal Bend region. In addition to his position on the San Antonio Bay Partnership board he holds board positions with the Aransas First Land Trust, Friends of Aransas National Wildlife Refuge and the Aransas Bay chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association.

Houston
Vickie serves on SABP’s board as a director and is a member of our Public Awareness Committee. She has served on the board since 2014.

Humble/Port O'Connor
Ashley, born and raised in the Golden Crescent area of Texas, spent her childhood in Port Lavaca, Goliad, and Hallettsville. Her deep appreciation for local communities and wildlife conservation stems from her roots near the bay system in Calhoun County, San Antonio River (Goliad) and Lavaca River (Hallettsville).
She and family, actively participate in SABP’s Mid-Coast Sea Turtle Rescue and the annual Abandoned Crab Trap Removal. They enjoy hosting friends and visiting family in Port O’Connor.
Ashley plans to pursue Texas Master Naturalist and Master Gardener certifications in the future.
She enjoys fishing, collecting seashells, and cleaning the beaches of the San Antonio and Espiritu Santo Bay system to protect and preserve these areas for generations to come.

San Antonio
Steve active in several community impact organizations. He is a Certified Texas Master Naturalist, Rotary Past President and Past Assistant District Governor, Calhoun County School Board Member and Past President, United Way Campaign Director, Port Lavaca Parks Board Member, Chamber of Commerce Director, Hospital Foundation Board Member, United Methodist Church

Member and student Mentor. Steve Marwitz has a B.S. in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University Galveston. He was employed as a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Fisheries Biologist for 14 years in the San Antonio Bay System and later in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Communications for a local manufacturing facility. He is now retired and likes to travel internationally whenever possible. He is husband to Cheryl Marwitz, father to four and grandfather to fifteen.

Seadrift
Buzz grew up in Seadrift and upon retirement returned to his hometown. He serves as Commissioner on the West Side Calhoun County Navigation District. Buzz organizes warrior fishing weekends to Seadrift for Combat Marine Outdoors.

Corpus Christi
Bejat is SABP’s Program and Development Manager. She leads conservation programs, grant development, and community engagement initiatives supporting the long-term health of the San Antonio Bay system. She brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and environmental outreach, with a strong focus on collaborative, place-based conservation.
Bejat is a professional photographer who captures conservation work, species, and habitat with both technical precision and compelling storytelling. Her images highlight ecological detail and human connection, translating field efforts into powerful visuals that strengthen outreach and impact.

Port O'Connor
Brigid’s curiosity and love for nature ignite her caregiver tendencies to help save the planet’s plants and animals. After her 30-year career in nursing, she was able to focus on the natural world through volunteer projects as a Texas Master Naturalist with the Mid-Coast Chapter. From supporting bugs and birds with native plant gardening to emboldening students to hold a blue crab with the Texas Floating Classroom, she engages in a variety of initiatives that benefit the local environment.
Brigid has been a dedicated volunteer for San Antonio Bay Partnership supporting her husband Allan’s initiatives as chairman including the Abandoned Crab Trap Removal and Shorelines Cleanup programs as well as reminding him to reboot his computer when things get stuck. Upon documenting over a hundred dead sea turtles after Winter Storm Uri in 2021, Brigid initiated the Mid-Coast Sea Turtle Rescue.
