Paddle Guadalupe Delta to Seadrift 2015

Paddle Guadalupe Delta to Seadrift

Sunday, July 12, 2015   8 am – 3 pm

Trip Report: Although it was rescheduled due to record flooding, the paddle finally launched on Sunday July 12 with eight paddlers, Allan Berger leading and supported by the Coast Guard Auxillary. Weather was pleasant with moderate south wind picking up in the last 5.5 miles across San Antonio Bay. River was high & fast at 7.5 ft, 2500 cubic feet per second.  Participants helped shuttle back to start.

There was some thought (or hope) that we’d get to see the leaders of the Texas Water Safari who launched the day before in San Marcos. But the fastest paddlers reached Seadrift that evening so our participants were off the water by then. Thanks to our paddling participants for making the event a memorable one!

Start was at Calhoun’s Riverside RV Retreat off H35 at Guadalupe River

Take out at Seadrift Bayfront Park.

Paddle – about 13 miles
