San Antonio Bay Partnership is proud to bring theTexas Floating Classroomto the Mid-Coast region during Estuary October. While 2020 was limited due to covid, with your help the 2021 program will be even more successful than 2019!
Aboard the Archimedes, students from Seadrift, Port O’Connor, Port Lavaca, Victoria, Austwell/Tivoli, Edna, Palacios & more see, touch & hold the wonderous animals netted straight out of our bay waters. Ecology lessons teach them about the innerworkings and importance of the bay & estuary systems. Combined with on-shore lessons the students have a fun-filled, hand-on learning experience. And, through traveling touch tanks, the bay is delivered to those schools who are unable to send students to the boat.
It is only through YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORTof Estuary October that the Texas Floating Classroom can reach our young people and show them their own “backyard” environment. Learning about rainforests is great but our local kids deserve to learn about the fish, crabs, oysters and the dynamics of the bay & estuary ecosystems through first hand experience. Please support Estuary Octoberso our local kids can come aboard the Texas Floating Classroom.
