San Antonio Bay Day

Seadrift Bayfront Park

“San Antonio Bay Day” is an annual event hosted by the San Antonio Bay Partnership.
The goal of the event is to provide a hands-on environmental educational experience for
the general public to improve their understanding of the ecology and natural resources of
San Antonio Bay. Proceeds from “San Antonio Bay Day” go to support the Partnership’s
efforts to conserve, protect, and enhance the natural resources of San Antonio Bay.

San Antonio Bay Day Activities

Texas Floating Classroom, Inc.
90-min boat trip in San Antonio Bay aboard the Archimedes – program
features hands-on interaction with local wildlife through plankton
tows, shrimp trawls, and marine ecology lesson. Educational programs
are targeted at 10 years of age and above. Tours at 10 am & 1 pm.
COST = $20 per participant

 

Birding Tour

Birding Excursion
Two-hour tour on a private ranch where experts will help participants
identify local birds and other wildlife that are common in the San
Antonio Bay area. Meet at 8:30 am, Seadrift Library 502 S. 4th Street
for an introductory discussion. COST = $20 per participant

 

 

Paddling Instruction by Alan Raby

Paddling Instruction

Dolphin Kayak of Port O’Connor will provide an introduction to
coastal paddling targeted to beginners. Kayaks and paddle boards will
be available. Come learn more about this fun recreational activity.
8:30 am Kayak class, 1 pm Paddle Board Class. COST = $20 per participant.

 

Fishing girls

Kids Fishing Tournament
Families can experience the fun that San Antonio Bay has to offer
through the Kids Fishing Tournament – prizes awarded for biggest
and smallest fish! Sponsored by the Seadrift Chamber of Commerce. Must bring own gear & a responsible adult. 8:30 am – 10:30 am Awards at 11 am. COST = $1 per participant

Local enviornmental organizations will provide exhibits and
activities that educate visitors about the importance of conserving
our coastal resources.
COST = Free
