The program provides K-12 students living in the watershed of Guadalupe / San Antonio Rivers a hands-on environmental education program that consists of two components: (1) A boat trip into San Antonio Bay aboard the Texas Floating Classroom vessel and (2) On-shore educational activities to supplement the lessons taught during the boat trip. Students experience the wonders of local waters first hand, but more importantly, they will be encouraged to consider the important role that they play in the conservation of our coastal resources.
Our goal each year is to raise $30,000 which allows participation of 600 students in the activities of Estuary October. Your generous support will change the lives of this future generation and arm them with the knowledge about the importance of the San Antonio Bay / Guadalupe River watershed.
A very generous contribution from Formosa Environmental Trust has anchored this year’s program. Thank you, Formosa!
But we are asking your help in expanding it. To make your generous contribution, contact Allan Berger (713-829-2852; firstname.lastname@example.org).
